Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI) sell insurance for travel within New Zealand and Internationally through agents and via the Internet.    www.scti.co.nz is a portal providing public access into these products. Starsoft Computers are the web site developers for these products.

Constant changes in product specifications, changing market needs, and frequent promotions plus interaction between Starsoft, SCTI, and two back-end solution providers means that a large amount of communication and project requirements must be tracked.  To enable this tracking, SCTI and Starsoft both use the EziExpert Help Desk Software.  Over 200 projects have been recorded in EziExpert within a year to August 2007.   Each product is recorded as a separate entity, to enable multiple tracking of changes applying simultaneously across products.

Both Starsoft and SCTI are able to track these through initiation, quotation, approval, progress, SIT testing, UAT testing, and final implementation.  With each change in status, Starsoft have the option the send the latest status update to personnel at SCTI. Starsoft can track who is currently assigned to the project and who has participated in the project earlier in it's life cycle.  Delays in progressing through each of the status stages can be assessed.  At any point in time, Starsoft can advise SCTI of the status of any projects or items of concern.

Regular meetings between SCTI management and the Starsoft team are based around the outputs from EziExpert.  Lists of current projects, changes awaiting UAT, issues waiting for SCTI decisions, and items that have been quoted are raised and discussed.
